description
Bizzaria is a tribute to the most peculiar of citrus fruits, the fruit of the sour orange tree, which was first studied in the Medici gardens in 1644. It was reborn thanks to a fortuitous rediscovery in 1980 in the botanical greenhouses of Villa Medici in Castello. Santa Maria Novella introduces a citrusy, white-floral, woody scent that opens with an ultra-sparkling citrus concentrate. Lively, juicy bergamot mingles with the freshness of neroli, creating an explosion of energy in the air. A heart full of ginger notes settles on a warm, sensual base of cedar and ambrox.

Santa Maria Novella

Born in 1221, the Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella is considered the oldest pharmacy in the world. Founded by Dominican friars, its history began when they had access to Santa Maria Inter Vineas, a small church outside Florence. There they cultivated herbs and plants in its garden to make medicines, ointments and balms. In 1334, Santa Maria Novella became known for treating a wealthy merchant from one of the most powerful families in Florence. Today the house is known worldwide for its perfumes, candles and "traditional preparations".
