For the duo Roses on Ice and Angels' Share, Kilian is inspired by liquors that reflect his Hennessy heritage. Roses on ice evokes his wife's favorite drink, Hendricks on the rocks: Hendricks gin infused with Bulgarian rose and cucumber with a hint of lime. The fragrance is the result of a collaboration with the famous German perfumer Franck Voelkl, known for sublimating the woody note in his creations. The ode to gin can be found throughout the olfactory experience Roses in Ice, with the freshness of cucumber and juniper berries at the opening. Centifolia rose in the heart notes rounds out the fragrance's icy side. The musky, woodsy base recalls the spirit's lively, sharp character. The result is a festive fragrance, as fresh as it is woody and spicy. Roses on ice is a true homage to the freshness of gin, a sophisticated alcohol.
Heir to one of the major French cognac houses, Kilian Hennessy wanted to take over the project of his family. The smells of his childhood spent near the family cellars in Cognac inspired him when he chose to work on the semantics of smells. In search of the "share of angels", a language common to gods and humans, he then met the world of perfumes: the sugar of alcohol and the wood of wine cellars can then be found in many fragrances by Kilian.
