description
Cire Trudon revives the beautiful tradition of wax sculptures. This unknown model of Marie Antoinette of Austria is attributed to Brachard without specifying whether it is the eldest, Jean-Charles-Nicolas or the youngest, Jean-Nicolas-Alexandre, whose activity is attested to the manufacture of Sèvres between 1782 and 1827. The bust represents an idealized portrait of the Queen of France unlike other pieces more oriented towards the evocation of a sovereign at the peak of its power.

Trudon

Founded by Claude Trudon in 1643, the Maison Trudon quickly became the Royal Wax Manufacture. In the court, the light of the Cire Trudon candles danced on the walls of Versailles, lit the French corridors and were appreciated from Louis XIV to Napoleon, in all the major churches of the country. A legacy which is shared and renewed today by the brand with immense pleasure.
