For the holidays, Do Son is available in an exclusive and precious limited edition. On the bottle, the revisited illustration comes to life in a two-dimensional case adorned with gold.
The box features festive soft felt decor, hand-created by English artist Lucy Sparrow, then carefully photographed and reproduced on the packaging. Each product thus becomes a fragment of this “art object”, an invitation to rediscover our childish soul, celebrating winter wonder.
Yves Coueslant, co-founder of Diptyque, spent his childhood summers in Do Son, a coastal town in Vietnam, in a pagoda built by his father. Far from the stifling heat of Haiphong, the sea breeze brought the captivating scent of tuberoses, flowers that his mother cherished.
This tuberose fragrance, almost palpable at dusk, reveals itself with intensity, mixing solar sensuality and creamy indolence. Insolent and addictive, this white flower unreservedly seduces those who dare to surrender to its irresistible charm.
The brand was founded in 1961 by three singular personalities united by a strong aesthetic alchemy: Christiane Montadre-Gautrot, Yves Coueslant and Desmond Knox-Leet. Fed with a common passion for drawing, they start creating motifs for fabrics and wallpapers, and decide to open their first shop with two entrances (like a diptych) in Paris, Boulevard Saint Germain.
