Carner Barcelona's inspirations
For the founder of Carner Barcelona, a fragrance should "evoke memories, share experiences and transmit emotions." Coming from a family of leather workers, Sara Carner draws her inspiration from this heritage, but also from her native Spain. All her creations are marked by a woody accord, visually represented by the solid wood caps of the bottles. Here is a look at three of his flagship fragrances.
D600 is the city life of Barcelona. Corresponding to Avenida Diagonal 600, the address of Carner's headquarters, this location reflects the Mediterranean spirit of the coastal city. The fresh, pure morning air, the freshly bloomed flowers and the scent of fruit slightly warmed by the morning sun reveal a spicy, woody fragrance.
Palo Santo is another reference to the sun, but now almost stifling. In South America, palo santo is a sacred wood used as incense. A sweet, milky, intoxicating aroma, where earthy notes immerse us in a shamanic ritual, and a priest protects us and opens the way to good fortune.
For Cuirs, it is the family tradition that is honored. The founder's grandfather created a tannery that still exists today. Sonia Constant mixes this material with a spicy tobacco, which immediately takes us back to the leather workshops. A spicy woody where the leather is softened by the tonka bean, the cistus and the musk.
