BIOEFFECT is a scientific brand of skin care products created in Iceland by scientists and based on 10 years of research in biotechnology. 

The BIO in BIOEFFECT stands for biotechnology. It's the first brand in the world to launch a range of skin care with the Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) produced in plants. These are cellular activators, or proteins that are natural components of the skin's renewal process and providing radiance, firmness and freshness to the skin.

In Iceland BIOEFFECT has developed an innovative production method using the heat of the earth (geothermal, renewable energy) to produce a line of high-quality skin care. They use the volcanic heat underground and thus cover 66% of their total energy requirements. BIOEFFECT uses this unique source of energy for the production of its barley plants in a greenhouse of 2000 m2 fully powered by electricity and heating with geothermal energy. Its carbon footprint is negative.

The skincare range consists of seven products; EGF serum (star product), EGF DAY serum,EGF EYE CONTOUR serum, the 30 DAY TREATMENT,  the BODY INTENSIVE serum and two DAYTIME creams (for normal and one for dry skin).
