description
Cire Trudon relive the beautiful tradition of wax sculptures. Why be born a slave is the name given by the sculptor and painter Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux (1827-1875) in a series of busts he executed around 1870. It is in the context of the preparatory study on Africa bust the Negress captive born. True to its interpretation of the movement, he is the slave impeded in an oblique twist expressing revolt bust. The story goes that the woman who served as a model would also put the realization of the "Capresse colonies" (1861) by Charles Cordier.

Trudon

Founded by Claude Trudon in 1643, the Maison Trudon quickly became the Royal Wax Manufacture. In the court, the light of the Cire Trudon candles danced on the walls of Versailles, lit the French corridors and were appreciated from Louis XIV to Napoleon, in all the major churches of the country. A legacy which is shared and renewed today by the brand with immense pleasure.
