The evocation of a Greek summer at Mount Pelion where sun-drenched fig trees overhang the roads to the sea. Philosykos is an ode to the fig tree: the green freshness of the leaves, the milky flavor of figs, the density of white wood.
The brand was founded in 1961 by three singular personalities united by a strong aesthetic alchemy: Christiane Montadre-Gautrot, Yves Coueslant and Desmond Knox-Leet. Fed with a common passion for drawing, they start creating motifs for fabrics and wallpapers, and decide to open their first shop with two entrances (like a diptych) in Paris, Boulevard Saint Germain.
