A word from the perfumer

Shelagh Foyle

Shelagh Foyle began her career in the laboratories of Yardley of London before joining Givaudan, one of the world's largest fragrance houses, where she trained at their perfumery school in Switzerland. She then moved into creation at Robertet — one of the oldest family-owned houses in Grasse — a role that came with a rare distinction: she was elected President of the British Society of Perfumers during that period.

She is now head perfumer at Floris London, a house with nearly three centuries of history behind it. Her brief is precise: to interpret the Floris signature while bringing her own sensibility to it. She works with raw, powerful and distinctive ingredients, building accords that feel personal — the kind that trigger memories, tell stories, and linger.
