Through his olfactory creation, perfumer Kentaro Yamada invites us to travel to the modern and technological world of the future by using our imagination. Between uncertainty and optimism, today's human being is ready to take up any challenge, driven by notes of grapefruit, lavender, carrot seeds, kelp and iris. The fundamental questioning of the Being blossoms thanks to the flowery heart of neroli, hinoki and magnolia, to finally end on a comforting and animal background of sandalwood, ambrette, styrax, musk and ambergris. Back to the Neanderthal era, where all existential questions arise.
Originally from Fukuoka, Japan, the London-based artist Kentaro Yamada raises many questions about human history, the past and the purpose of being, while maintaining an optimistic view of the creator. He has teamed up with perfumer Euan McCall to create disruptive fragrances in ceramic bottles reminiscent of Neanderthal axe-cut flint. Produced using 3D laser scanning and printing technology, the bottles pay homage to the DNA of this civilization that disappeared 50,000 years ago and is still alive within us.
