Frustration is a new act in the discreet revolution that Etienne de Swardt is leading. Frustration is linked to the experience of life, we need it, it is the sister of perfume. It gives by taking away, like a desire never fulfilled or a pleasure initiated never achieved. Frustration excites and annoys, like rum mixed with the warm and powerful spices of cumin and cinnamon. It drives and humiliates, like a regressive vanilla which duplicates itself in an essence and an absolute. It plunges us into an insatiable quest for resolution, but the bipolarity of the chestnut-vetiver base makes us addicted. A fragrance that we always want more, to live with passion the memory of a lack.
Etat Libre d'Orange is an independent perfume house founded in 2006 at 69 rue des Archives in the heart of the Marais district of Paris. Reflecting the corner of their birthplace where two streets meet, they sign their brand with a republican cockade on the edge of the bottles to better express the creative freedom that distinguishes their creations.
