description
Yves Coueslant, one of the founders of Diptyque, spent his childhood, summers, at the seaside, in the pagoda built by his father in Do Son, in the Bay of Along. Far from the damp heat of the great port of Haiphong, the air was cooler. The sea breeze carried with it the pleasant and slightly spicy scent of tuberose that her mother loved so much. Do Son has the delicacy and persistence of a childhood memory in Indochina.

Diptyque

The brand was founded in 1961 by three singular personalities united by a strong aesthetic alchemy: Christiane Montadre-Gautrot, Yves Coueslant and Desmond Knox-Leet. Fed with a common passion for drawing, they start creating motifs for fabrics and wallpapers, and decide to open their first shop with two entrances (like a diptych) in Paris, Boulevard Saint Germain.
