Since its creation, the World Music Day corresponding to the summer solstice has become more and more popular in all continents, until reaching 370 cities around the world.

The link between music and fragrance, however, is much less well-known. The Japanese even "listen" to perfumes (kiku) rather than smelling them, since they make our soul vibrate just like the sound does. That's why many perfumers have taken their inspiration from music for their olfactory creations.

Each fragrance belonging to the Extrait de musique collection has been conceived as an incense ode to a specific touch of the organ.

As for 1969 by Histoires de Parfums, this is a tribute to Serge Gainsbourg's song "69 année érotique", with its glam-rock spicy and gourmand accord.

Finally, Frédéric Malle's Music for a While was conceived under the inspiration of a baroque piece by the composer Henry Purcell, while Maison Margiela's Jazz Club is an anthology played by brasses in the dim light of a jazz hall.

"A successful fragrance is a melody that is remembered." What tune are you going to choose for tonight?
