Native to North Africa, cedar is a conifer of the family Pinaceae. Its naturally fragrant wood is durable and lightweight. It is appreciated by artisans and sculptors, but also has medicinal properties. Disinfectant, its resin was used by the priests of Egypt for the embalming of the bodies.
