Description

Composed by Isabelle Doyen, Nuit de Bakélite is a floral green animal fragrance that moves tuberose away from creaminess and into something colder, sharper and more animalic. Tomato leaf, galbanum and angelica cut through the flower before it can become opulent. Karo karounde intensifies the floral body, while leathery facets add a dry, almost synthetic edge. The result is not a lush tuberose, but a green, nocturnal floral where sap, leather and white flower create friction. Most tuberose fragrances resolve their central material into something smooth and wearable. Nuit de Bakélite refuses this. Doyen keeps the rough edges of the tuberose — its rubbery, indolic, almost organic quality. Recommended for those who want a powerful green floral with texture rather than sweetness. The title frames the scent through Bakelite, the early synthetic resin: dark, hard, polished and slightly strange. That material idea explains the perfume’s treatment of tuberose as an electric object rather than a romantic flower.

List of ingredients

Who is this for?

For those drawn to uncompromising florals with striking vegetal intensity and an unconventional character.

Product frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Nuit de Bakélite opens with the biting greenness of tomato leaf, galbanum, and angelica before revealing a sharp green tuberose. Leather gives the composition structure, creating a fragrance that feels raw, vibrant, and intensely vegetal.

Yes but not in the traditional sense. Isabelle Doyen reimagines tuberose as cool, green, and almost metallic, rather than creamy, solar, or opulent.

Most tuberose perfumes soften the flower. Nuit de Bakélite keeps its rougher facets: green sap, rubbery texture, leather and animalic tension.

SHAMA A

Starts fresh, light and green, then floral heart, and finally transition to a dark leather. Great performance.

Pedram F

Vibrating scent that keeps on 'talking' through the day. Classy!

My wife doesn't like this one because of the tobacco. I can't get enough of it, so I wear it anyways. It's so green, so dirty while being so fresh and alive. The performance is excellent. I am getting a good 9 to 10 hours off 3 sprays before it becomes a very close and intimate fragrance. When it wears close it's an undeniable fragrance forcing my wife to acknowledge how wonderful of a fragrance NdB is. I think this can crack my top 10 for life fragrances.

anonymous a

Intriguing and hypnotic.

anonymous a

Strong and unusual.
