L'Eau Papier, when the imagination is set free and dreams become reality. For this creation, Diptyque pays tribute to the power of paper and celebrates creativity and self-expression, a carte blanche for imagination. The accord created by Fabrice Pellegrin, with musk as a top note mixed with rice vapor, calls for a soft immagination, which is then contrasted by notes of mimosa symbolizing the creative impulse. This signature of patience is gradually revealed and then releases chords of blond wood that recalls the origin of the Paper.
The brand was founded in 1961 by three singular personalities united by a strong aesthetic alchemy: Christiane Montadre-Gautrot, Yves Coueslant and Desmond Knox-Leet. Fed with a common passion for drawing, they start creating motifs for fabrics and wallpapers, and decide to open their first shop with two entrances (like a diptych) in Paris, Boulevard Saint Germain.
