Herod was an English thoroughbred racehorse considered to be one of the four stallions of the 18th century that created the breed. Parfums de Marly was inspired by the stallion's majesty and created the Herod fragrance. A signature scent that embodies the sophistication of the era with its bold and sumptuous trail. This oriental, woody, spicy, releases notes of cinnamon in the top, twisted with notes of incense in the heart. The perfume is then crowned with notes of tobacco, vanilla, cedar and amber in the base that bring warmth and character.
Fascinated by the beauty, refinement and excellence of the 18th century, the company's founder, Julien Sprecher, decided to found Parfums de Marly in 2009. A true tribute to the Chateau of Louis XV, a palace of pleasures, where the most extravagant and exclusive parties took place. The king's court was so obsessed with perfume that it was nicknamed the ‘court of perfumes’: pouches, fans, gloves and even fountains were bathed in fragrance. The House aims to revive the splendours of a golden age of perfumery.
