For the Extraits collection, the iconic signatures of Aurélien Guichard are reinvented in all their quintessence. The textures become even more palpable, sensations of roundness invade thanks to a stronger dosage of the main raw material. Another secret? A guest ingredient is introduced into each creation to reveal new, unsuspected facets of the note. For Radical Rose Extrait, the perfumer revisits the centifolia rose while enhancing it with Croatian immortelle absolute.
The fragrance opens with the spicy and luminous facets of saffron and allspice. At the heart, the centifolia rose, grown in the Maison's flower fields in Grasse using family know-how, is mixed with Croatian immortelle absolute. The latter, with its marked floral and saline character, reveals a more full-bodied depth and a mineral aspect to the rose. Like a play of chiaroscuro, patchouli and labdanum cistus reveal their darkest nuances, while vanilla and ethyl maltol bring a touch of gourmand sensuality, thus completing the composition.
The bottles of the Extraits collection retain the iconic cubic and angular shape of the classic collection, but adopt a smoked glass to accentuate the intensity of this edition.
Aurélien Guichard, born in Grasse and coming from a family of perfumers for 7 generations, signed around 100 creations before creating his own brand: Matiere Premiere. Iconic ingredients of perfumery such as musk, sandalwood, incense or neroli are revisited in order to exacerbate their unexpected facets, giving birth to "radical" fragrances.
