In this episode of "Off with Nose", Nicolas Dewitte and Cédric Jimenez present the brand Chambre52, born from a stay in São Paulo in 2022. The brand draws its origins from the intense Brazilian nights that Nicolas wanted to encapsulate in a fragrance, after staying in room 52. A unique house where story and emotion always precede the creation of the formula.
Cinema, narrative, flacon: the Chambre 52 method
Nicolas Dewitte and Cédric Jimenez are the two founders. Everything starts from screenplays — narrative universes that precede the composition. For Tobacco Memories, Dewitte first designed the bottle with Jules Dinand: transparent, so that the raw materials can be seen, open to the world. Cédric Jimenez then shot a 52-second film through the flacon.
Domitille Michalon: the master perfumer behind Tobacco Memories
Signed by perfumer Domitille Michalon, Tobacco Memories carries within it a pleasing coincidence: Domitille always stays in room 52 during her trips to São Paulo. A creative inevitability — she is the one who best captured the smoky atmosphere and intensity of the Brazilian nights so dear to Nicolas Dewitte.
The composition is woody, fruity and amber. Almond and saffron in the top, black cherry and iris in the heart, musk and tobacco leaves in the base. A pyramid that is at once dark and carnal, which delivers on the promise of a night in São Paulo rather than a simple tobacco fragrance.
