In a workshop in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, a bottle of Indonesian oud rests on the table, dense as a legend; once reserved for emperors and poets, oud has become a cult material: mystical, forbidden, coveted; Notorious Oud seizes this mythical black wood and transposes it into a contemporary language, weaving it into a multicultural setting: Bulgarian rose, French lavender, Egyptian papyrus, Afghan saffron; the fragrance opens with a spicy and distinguished burst: warm saffron, trembling lavender, and dry herbs; very quickly, the oud takes its place: sensual, smoky, balsamic, yet tamed with elegance; it converses with the rose, delves into a leathery and musky accord, and leaves a profound, almost mystical imprint.
