Tobacco Memories Extrait at Nose

In this new episode of On Tour with Nose, Nicolas Dewitte, founder of Chambre52, introduces Tobacco Memories Extrait — a perfume extract unveiled exclusively at Nose for its worldwide launch.

Tobacco Memories: An Olfactory Inception

Tobacco Memories was born in the dim light of a hotel room in São Paulo. Returning from an intense night, Nicolas Dewitte immersed himself in a moment of necessary introspection — a suspended state, somewhere in between, where the idea first emerged. From this turning point came the creation: a sensitive reinterpretation of a memory, inviting a journey inward.

For the founder of Chambre52, the act of creation is inseparable from an inner quest: “Sometimes, if we want to move forward, we must revisit and accept our deepest memories.” A true olfactory “inception,” this fragrance explores the layers of the past to awaken what we believed had been forgotten. More than a trail, it is an invitation to confront one’s own reflection, transforming an intimate resonance into a universal force.

Tobacco Leaf, Not Smoked Tobacco

Moving away from familiar clichés, Tobacco Memories Extrait frees itself from smoky accords to celebrate the raw material itself. Here, the tobacco note reveals a new facet: a silky, dry leaf of infinite delicacy. Nicolas Dewitte illustrates it with a deeply nostalgic image — the pure, woody scent released when opening a cigar box for the very first time.

The formula was created by perfumer Domitille Michalon. The fragrance evolves into a woody, fruity floriental composition. While the Extrait de Parfum remains faithful to the spirit of the original, it amplifies its sensual dimension. Deeper and more textured, this new opus gains in intensity to deliver an olfactory experience of absolute richness.

The Olfactory Pyramid of Tobacco Memories Extrait

The tobacco leaf note structures the heart of the fragrance — silky, enveloping, and smooth. It is paired with living stallion, a rare extraction that brings a subtle animalic quality, a skin-like sensuality that gradually unfolds.

In the base, labdanum reveals its warm amber facets. It creates a generous, lingering trail that remains on the skin long after the first application. It is this note that gives Tobacco Memories Extrait its deep, persistent, almost enveloping signature.

Fruity and woody in its structure, animalic in its texture, Tobacco Memories Extrait is a fragrance of reconciled contrasts — intensity and delicacy, power and silk.

The Bottle: An Aesthetic Statement

Chambre52 presents its creations in an iconic 52 ml bottle — a format designed with Jules Dinan that has become the visual signature of the House. For this extrait, the identity is pushed even further: a deep red inner lacquer reminiscent of black cherry tones, contrasted with the gold details of both the bottle and its box.

Who Is Tobacco Memories Extrait For?

Nicolas Dewitte defines it without ambiguity: “A genderless fragrance, created for someone who seeks to combine intensity with delicacy.” Tobacco Memories Extrait belongs neither to a category nor to a predefined profile. It belongs to those who wear fragrance like a memory — chosen, embodied, impossible to reduce to a trend.
