Description

The twelfth fragrance in the UNUM monolithic collection is designed to confront the most intense of emotions: fear. The starting point for the inspiration is an excerpt from the Gospel of Matthew. In this parable, Jesus illustrates how the rapture of the Church will take place. Jesus tells the story of 10 virgins awaiting the return of their bridegroom, five foresighted and five careless, waiting for the bridegroom who was to come for them. These virgins symbolize the Church, while the bridegroom symbolizes the return of Jesus. The story goes that only 5 foresighted virgins kept enough oil for their lamps to guide them in the dark when the bridegroom returned, and were able to enter the church, while the other 5 were dismissed: ""I don't know you"". This is just the beginning. The idea is to go beyond evangelizing these words and confront our fears on a deeper, more intense level, evoking contradictory emotions and experiencing the seductive charm of danger - an ""amor fati"" as Nietzsche claimed - or, at least, the presence of things beyond our control. Perfume conveys the idea of destruction, the choice of silence, the introspection needed to plunge into the depths of existence furthest from the skin. Yet seeking to control it creates an attraction and even a sense of pleasure towards this sought-after and desired fear.
