THE HEDONIST EXTRAIT - EX NIHILO
Reinvention of an icon, in search of natural beauty
Three years after the release of the original The Hedonist, Ex Nihilo, together with perfumer Jordi Fernández, introduced an Extrait version. This new interpretation is distinctly masculine in character: powerful, dynamic, and well-structured. The opening unfolds with citrus and spicy accords of bergamot, grapefruit, and ginger, the latter adding warmth to the composition. At its heart lies a rich blend of akigalawood and cedar, accented by the fruity, aquatic nuances of lychee. The final part of this bold woody, citrus, and spicy fragrance includes rich, deep undertones of patchouli and vetiver.
NÉ IL GIORNO NÉ L’ORA - FILIPPO SORCINELLI
Confront the most intense of emotions: fear
Experiencing this Filippo Sorcinelli fragrance begins with engaging kinetic elements. Its packaging is sealed in transparent film, and the bottle itself is wrapped in a shrink sleeve that must be cut open with the included scissors. The fragrance is highly conceptual and complex, featuring biblical allusions. Considered unisex but with a prominent masculine angle, it is classified as woody, spicy, and marine. It opens fresh, with a textured, masculine dry-down highlighting bergamot, cardamom, and galbanum. At its heart lies a rich floral bouquet, complemented by powdery orris and aquatic notes, before settling into a leathery, musky base.
CUOIUM - ORTO PARISI
An animal tribute to the know-how of the leather crafts
Alessandro Gualtieri pays tribute to the ancestral art of leather through bottle design, storytelling, and composition. Cuoium is a powerful woody-animalic fragrance, utterly masculine in character. The leather accord is preceded by black pepper, mandarin, and violet, while the rich woody, balsamic, and resinous base combines incense, labdanum, and cade wood, with subtle hints of vanilla. This highly concentrated perfume extract is unconventional and uncompromising, intense, visceral, dark, and far from a minimalist approach. Cuoium is the only fragrance to be sold with a removable and reusable vegetable leather cover.
MORNING CHESS - VILHELM PARFUMERIE
Slow morning chess games along Swedish summertime
Morning Chess, with a strong, recognizable chypre structure, is rooted in memory and nostalgia. Jérôme Epinette blends green, fresh, sparkling notes inspired by Swedish summers and slow mornings in the countryside, spent playing chess with Jan’s grandfather. It is a timeless yet modern masculine leather fragrance, built around bergamot, woodsy, and ambery notes. Despite the deep, dark facets of patchouli, leather, and fir balsam (spruce), the composition retains plenty of light, provided by bergamot and the spicy bitterness of galbanum.
SWIMMING POOL - BIBBI
An aromatic journey to the heart of southern Italy
Swimming Pool is clean and vibrant, with a pronounced green character. This woody citrus aromatic composition evokes the coolness and fluidity of water. Its refreshing effect comes from basil, ginger, and mint, layered with eucalyptus, geranium, and vetiver. This green facet is intense, wrapped in a clear menthol veil, yet it transitions smoothly into a grounding, softly textured base of cedar, ambrox, and coumarin. While it is considered unisex, it leans masculine in its performance, and its evolution on the skin is genuinely fascinating to observe.
