An ode to the magnolia grandiflora, a majestic evergreen tree. For this creation, Santa Maria Novella draws its inspiration from the Magnolia, which arrived in Florence in the 18th century, and pays tribute to its ability to stand the test of time while preserving its uniqueness. From the very first notes, the air is filled with a vibrant freshness: the sparkling scent of pineapple meets a subtle blend of floral aromas. Magnolia, rose and jasmine intertwine harmoniously, capturing the purity and sweetness of nature. Amber and musk settle delicately in the base to create a bewitching depth.
Born in 1221, the Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella is considered the oldest pharmacy in the world. Founded by Dominican friars, its history began when they had access to Santa Maria Inter Vineas, a small church outside Florence. There they cultivated herbs and plants in its garden to make medicines, ointments and balms. In 1334, Santa Maria Novella became known for treating a wealthy merchant from one of the most powerful families in Florence. Today the house is known worldwide for its perfumes, candles and "traditional preparations".
