Caron was born in 1904 from the meeting between the Russian-born perfumer Ernest Daltroff and the milliner Félicie Wanpouille, on Rue de la Paix.

Ernest Daltroff, an exceptionally open and passionate man, with an uncommon sensitivity and a singular look, became a perfumer because he was in love with flowers, he let himself be crossed by his experience of the world. As for Félicie Wanpouille, she was gifted with an extraordinary intuition.

The two of them developed an instinctive understanding of their time. Bold and unclassifiable, mysterious and revolutionary, the founding duo embodies the refusal of homogeneity of styles that they have made the signature of Caron fragrances.
