Description

The first libraries appeared in the Near East more than 2,600 years ago, with the Royal Library of Ashurbanipal in Nineveh (circa 668 BC), which housed over 30,000 clay tablets organized by themes, symbolizing the preservation of knowledge and time; Bibliothèque draws from this ancient tradition: it pays homage to this quest for organized memory while reinventing perfume as an olfactory sanctuary, transposing the immaterial essence of books into tactile and atmospheric sensations through the softness of feathers, the muted scent of worn leather, and the depth of ancient wood, with the delicate flight of peony, violet, and peach evoking a powdery floral bouquet like pages scented by the touch of time, evolving into a woody and enveloping base of textured Moroccan cedar and musky notes blended with patchouli, creating a rich, warm, and history-laden trail reminiscent of a timeless library suspended between paper, leather, and subdued light.

"All my inspirations to create a perfume are linked to personal memories. Places from my childhood, specific moments in my life. Inspiration really comes from everywhere." – Ben Gorham
