“I always feel like an outsider.” Ben Gorham carries this phrase as both an intimate truth and a creative strength. Far from the traditional path of a perfumer, he was born to a Canadian father and an Indian mother, raised in Sweden, and drew inspiration from Scandinavian minimalist aesthetics. A former basketball player, he doesn’t fit into any of the conventional boxes of luxury. And it is precisely this that gave birth to Byredo: a free space where personal memories become perfumes, and emotions, raw materials.
Inspired by his multicultural heritage — from Indian rituals to Nordic landscapes — every aspect of his life fuels his creations. Rejecting conformity to norms, Ben imagines a brand without creative boundaries, where each fragrance is a narration, a story, an intimate or collective memory.
