The inspiration behind Kintsugi Perfumes

Kintsugi is an ancient Japanese art that consists of repairing broken pottery by highlighting its cracks with a lacquer dusted with gold powder, rather than attempting to conceal them. The restored object does not simply regain its integrity: it gains in singularity, and its golden lines become the visible testimony of its history. Imperfection is celebrated as a step towards a new and deeper beauty.

This philosophy, which honours resilience and transformation, lies at the heart of the Kintsugi Perfumes universe. It reminds us that our flaws, our scars and our experiences are part of what we are. Just as gold dust reveals the fractures of a ceramic, Kintsugi Perfumes illuminate these traces of life and reveal the unique identity of each individual.

The house, founded by Martin, a self-taught perfumer passionate about olfactory innovation, and Daniel, a former figure in the fashion industry in search of meaning, transposes this approach into the world of fragrance. Each creation is conceived as a sensory narrative, a tribute to reconstruction and personal transformation. Rather than seeking a fixed perfection, the compositions explore the contrasts and nuances that make each journey singular.

Crafted from rare and natural ingredients, chosen for their authenticity and olfactory richness, each of the house's fragrances is accompanied by a story. These narratives invite an introspective experience: welcoming one's emotions, reconnecting with one's senses, and allowing the fragrance to become an extension of oneself.Just as the golden lines that run through a repaired piece of pottery, Kintsugi Perfumes fragrances illuminate the beauty of the moments that shape us and our singularity.
