  Made from a mixture of salicylic acid and ethylhexanol, it protects against UVB, moisturises and reduces brown spots, wrinkles and fine lines. It is a suspected endocrine disruptor, which has harmful effects on the environment: it bleaches corals and pollutes the water and its living organisms.

  Works as a preservative due to its antimicrobial properties. Also widely used in disinfectant products for its antiseptic effect. Its astringent properties help to tighten pores. Can be responsible for dryness if not rebalanced with superfatting substances in cosmetic formulas.
