Among Initio's five fragrance collections, the Black Gold Project is the only line devoted entirely to one particular material: oud. A precious and rare material, its resin is produced by only one tree in a hundred. The true black gold of the Middle East before the advent of oil, it is also used as incense in Western churches. A connection between earth and heaven, it is burned during prayers or meditation times. A symbol crystallized on the bottle, as a final touch, mystical, where a sacred geometry makes the eye of protection dance in the center, the Egyptian pyramids in reference to the origins of the perfume and other oriental signs.

Oud for Greatness is therefore a reference to greatness. A greatness that we find in the notes, where black gold is mixed with red gold, saffron. The natural oud oil, combined with agarwood and lavender from Grasse give rise to an aromatic and woody oud. A slight smell of fern is revealed as the fragrance reveals its notes, bringing a fresh side at the opening. An almost spiritual tribute to the oud, where the nobility of the materials meets the divine omnipotence.
