Staying at home is also an opportunity to revisit our sweet childhood memories. Co-founder of Nose and aficionado of exceptional perfumes since his youth, Nicolas Cloutier founded Nose in 2012, convinced that the oldest olfactory memories (aka "Proust's madeleines") determine each person's favourite perfumes.

"The smell of fire is what has always been my strongest driver: the songs around the fire in our cottage in Quebec near Lake St. Joseph, the camps with the scouts, or the summers spent planting trees near the Alaska border...

These facets can be found in the smell of ashes, in the smell of smoky guaiac or cade wood, in the resin of fir, or in the smell of damp undergrowth or moss. Both my parents wear chypre perfumes, where moss and patchouli are at the heart of the creations. »

What are my top 5? Bois d'Ascèse, a smoky overdose of cade wood; the chypre Monsieur. and Promise, whose patchouli reminds me of the Quebecois undergrowth (!); Bowmakers, another chypre smelling varnish and wood glue; finally, Pluie Noire, an ode to iris and moss. »
