Until the 1920s, perfumes were genderless: men wore roses, while women scented themselves with their colognes. While the arrival of cinema has 'gendered' perfumery, summer remains an opportunity to (re)discover new accords that we haven't yet worn.

Nicolas Cloutier, founder of Nose, shares with us his 7 olfactory favorites for summer, to be shared without moderation:

Bizzaria de Santa Maria Novella - "This juice reminds me of my trips to Florence for the Pitti Fragrance show, and particularly my strolls through the city's gardens, where I like to recharge my batteries between appointments." It's a unisex cologne, a tribute to the bigarade tree studied since 1644 in the gardens of the Medici palaces. Its neroli notes create an explosion of energy, while ginger adds a spicy, fresh touch to the composition, provoking a very modern twist.

Cologne Cédrat by Matière Première - "These are memories of my meetings and trips to Grasse with Aurélien, our long hours spent chatting together on summer evenings at sunset". Aurélien Guichard takes up the challenge of making a cologne's freshness endure over time by adding a spicy pep, perfectly combining the combination of Italian citron (lively and sparkling) with Madagascar pepper essence - Argentine pink berries, while notes of Paraguay maté amplify the impression of freshness with an enveloping aromatic sweetness.

Why not a Cologne by Mark Buxton - "One of my most personal memories with Mark, when we worked on an early olfactory project for a mythical film". This is an explosive, unexpected cologne, a very delicate juice with mandarin / jasmine sambac notes, warmed by a woody note of genuine ambergris in the base.

Aqua célestia Cologne Forte by Maison Francis Kurkdjian - "A personal favorite since it's the fragrance my daughter wears, for me it's a perfect cologne to introduce your children to perfume". It's a delicate fragrance with a coriander/lime/sparkling mint note and a verbena twist that adds a refreshing green edge and a tart raspberry effect.

Virigin island water by Creed - "A summer classic that reminds me of the smell of sunscreen in the late afternoon at the beach". It's a more "masculine", intense version, both fresh and warm, with the pep of lime counterbalanced by the sweetness of a milky coconut note that adds softness to the composition.

Ilio de Diptyque - "It reminds me of this view of the calanques of Marseille, the warmth of a late afternoon and this breathtaking horizon of azure blue as far as the eye can see". It's one of the house's great classics, a fruity-musky floral fragrance, with the roundness of frangipani flower and powdery iris, and a note of exotic lychee/cherry fruit that adds a floral touch to the composition.

Moonlight in heaven by Kilian - "The fragrance of summer love". A milky powdery floral fragrance, the most 'feminine' of the selection. A fragrance at once sweet with notes of coconut milk and mango, and exotic with notes of fava bean, tonka and vetiver, with delicious tuberose at its heart.
