Born in Paris in 1989, David Benedek grew up in the world of perfumery with his grandparents and learned the taste of creation, at the same time as he learned to know himself. Passionate about perfumery since the age of ten, David still remembers the bottles he used to draw in the living room of the apartment where he grew up. His grandparents, specialized in the sale of perfumed products, opened their first store in 1959 in Paris, near the gardens of the Royal Palace. They were among the first people authorized to distribute big names in perfume such as Worth or Christian Dior.
It is with his grandmother Edith that David learns about the history of perfumery, and the family expertise develops over the years.

His passion for perfumery gradually turned into a need: to make it his profession. David joins the French Institute of Fashion in 2012, that's where he specializes more in perfumes and cosmetics. Then, he familiarizes himself with the principles of perfumery with the Givaudan teams.

From his olfactory love and desire to create emotion through these creations, David created the House of BDK Parfums in 2016.
"BDK Parfums was conceived as an olfactory library. Each perfume box, similar to a book binding, contains stories that are free to interpret and imagine, memories, moments that touch us and make us dream. We want to share the poetry of our travels, to paint the expanse of colors and textures that charm us."
