Astier de Villatte

Ivan Pericoli & Benoît Astier de Villatte meet in the 90s in a café in Saint-Germain. After studying Fine Arts in Paris, they work together in the workshop of Georges Jeanclos and learn the art of scupture. After one of their objects was published in the press, they decided to participate to the Maison & Objet show in 1996 and create their own brand. Astier de Villatte, founded in 1996, is a chic and sober ceramic manufacturer in Paris, drawing inspiration from all over the world.
The brand, known for its prestigious collaborations with the artist Setsuko Klossowska de Rola, widow of the painter Balthus, or with John Derian, uses a real craftsmanship since it is ancient Tibetan monks who manufacture the ceramics. Astier de Villatte also includes a large collection of candles and incense sticks scented with smells evoking different world destinations.
