We may not all go through Elizabeth's period of introspection in Eat Pray Love. Yet it would be hard to say no to her initiatory journey through Italy and India. This summer holidays will not be under a distant sun, but here are our tips to invite the scents from abroad into your home.

To invoke the wonders of Italy, the Stromboli candle by Astier de Villatte leads a stroll from a fishing village to the summit of the volcano, along the scented paths of lemon and bitter orange trees. For a trip to Naples, the homonymous candle is scented like a pastiera, between almond sugar, orange blossom and fresh zest of petit grain.

For a departure to India, the first stop comes with vanilla, musk and benzoin notes through Astier de Villatte's Delhi candle. Incense-lovers will be lulled by the scent of Namche Bazar, inspired by one of the capital's markets. Madurai candle by Cire Trudon sails instead between the white notes of sambac jasmine and the warmth of ylang yang, over a benzoin base.

Finally, an incursion into the north of Argentina. Here, the grapefruit is king on the arid plains of the province of Salta, from which the Cire Trudon candle takes its name. Verbena introduces here the sparkling freshness of the grapefruit, while the whole room will be invigorated!
